Panther 7th grade It was a crisp and windy evening as the 7th grade A-team Panthers took the field to defeat the Chapel Hill Bulldogs 26-22 on Thursday. The Panthers jumped all over the Bulldogs early when Houston Alexander took the opening kick off back to the 40 yard line. After a successful on side kick recovered by the Panthers, Alexander wasted no time when he broke loose for a 60 yard touchdown run. Rumbelow scored an extra point making Bullard's lead to 14 over Chapel Hill who had yet to score with 3:05 left on the clock. In the 2nd quarter the Panthers picked up where they left off as Alexander scored a 22 yard touchdown, his second of the evening. After a Bulldog fumbled, the Panthers, Rumbelow scored his second touchdown of the game with little time left on the clock, the extra point was no good. The Bulldogs Kendrick Bell scored a quick 35-yard touchdown and an extra point. The teams went into halftime with Bullard leading with 26 to Chapel Hill's 14. In the second half the cold was taking effect, with the only score and extra point made by JaMarkus Johnson of the Bulldogs. The Bullard offense then ran out the clock ensuring the win. |
