Autry Funeral Home, Thompson become one

As of Oct. 24, Autry Funeral Home announced that Thompson Funeral Home joined them in serving the Jacksonville-Frankston area.

Autry Funeral Home is locally owned and operated by Barry and Jana Autry and was established in 2003.

"We are so blessed with an incredibly professional staff. They are people that we call family and we look forward to working with each day," Barry Autry said. "We welcome our new family from Thompson as we come together to serve the people of Jacksonville, Frankston and surrounding communities.

"It is the people of the area though, that have made our success possible. Their encouragement and faith in our services are a continual reminder what our purpose truly is... We are here to serve as we would want to be served... Our commitment and our ministry is "Family Serving Family."

Thompson Funeral Home was previously owned by an affiliate of Service Corporation International, Houston.

"We were notified that they were going to sell these East Texas locations, and we moved forward to try to bring ownership back locally," Autry said. "It just all fell into place and we truly feel so honored to bring the two locations together as one."

Sean McRight, Gail Rainey, Davy Carter, Jim Paul, Elsie Patterson and Dan Morrison have joined our staff at Autry Funeral Home and all Thompson Funeral Home policies will be honored as written, he said.

"Thompson Funeral Home has a respected heritage in our area, and we are so proud that we can now join together our committed staffs."

Autry Funeral Home will serve families at its location at 1025 SE Loop 456 in Jacksonville and Hwy 175 at Garrison in Frankston.
