Panther band wins high marks at UIL

The "Pride of Panther land" Bullard's panther marching band under the direction of Gary Jordan and Micheal Oglesby competed in the region 21 UIL marching contest and received a perfect 1st division score from all three judges at Homer Bryce Stadium at Stephen F. Austin University on Oct. 20th.

This is the first of three steps to a UIL Sweepstakes Award. The UIL Sight-reading Contest and UIL Concert Contest will be held in April, 2008.

"I offer congratulations to to First Division Bullard High School Panther Marching Band," said band director Gary Jordan.

"And we all thank the Bullard community for its overwhelming support of the band program all year long.

As a celebration, the public is invited to attend and hear the award-winning Bullard High School Band in concert at 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 20 at the Bullard High School Gym.

Jordan also thanked the faculty, administration and staff of Bullard ISD for their "tremendous support of the Panther bands."

"In addition, we give a special thanks to the Band Boosters and all band parents for their tremendous commitment to the band program and each student," he said. "We know we could not be successful without all your support."
