Panther junior and varsity lose in games against Van

The junior varsity Panthers were defeated Thursday night by Van 24-0.

The first quarter passed with neither team scoring and each presenting a good defense.

"Van used a variety of ground and pound and spread offenses to put up 24 points," said Coach Ronnie Dent.

Bullard was led offensively by Dejuan Shelton and Preston Seaton-Knox.

Defensively the Panthers were led by Dejuan Shelton with two interceptions as well as strong efforts by Shaquille Marable, Dalton Simonek and Preston Seaton-Knox.

The varsity Panthers traveled to Van the following night and were defeated 14-17.

Charlie Moore led passing by completing 7 of his 15 attempts to gain 141 yards.

DeQuan Granberry led rushing with 71 yards gained on 12 carries.

Granberry also added a touch down for the Panthers.

Geoff Dick followed with 7 carries for 33 yards; Daniel Howard added 25 yards on 6 carries as well as Bullard's other touch down.

Chad Hollie led receiving for the night with 3 catches for 89 yards.

Lance Anding followed with 4 catches to gain 52 yards.

The junior varsity Panthers will travel to Chapel Hill Thursday to play at 6:30.

The varsity boys will play Chapel Hill Friday beginning at 7:30 in Panther Stadium.
