Wells joins staff
Cheryl Wells, who just recently moved to Tyler after living in Victoria, joined the newspaper staff last week. "I'm really excited to be in East Texas," Wells said. "I've met a lot of people so far, and everyone has been very nice." Wells left Victoria to be closer to her family. "My oldest daughter lives in Palestine with her grandchildren," she said. "I wanted to be nearby." Wells worked for Suddenlink Media in Victoria for two years, where she sold advertising for a local real estate channel and cable networks. She assisted clients in targeting their customers and developing ideas for commercials. This media experience, owner Bill Woodall said, in addition to her personality were major factors in his decision to hire Wells. "She knows advertising, and she's a very people-oriented person," Woodall said. "We're confident she'll work well with the Bullard community and our advertisers." Wells takes the place of Dan Moore, who oversaw sales while also serving as general manager for the three weekly papers owned by the Banner's parent company Bluebonnet Publishing. Moore is now working out of the Kilgore News Herald; the only daily in the group, where he is marketing supervisor of the Kilgore paper, as well as the Banner, Tri-County Leader and Chandler-Brownsboro Statesman. Wells has two daughters, Amanda and Emily, and three grandchildren, Joseph, Ashtin and Conner. She may be contacted by telephone at 903-894-9306 or via e-mail to advertising @bullardnews.com. |
