CROSS COUNTRY

Top, the 2007-2008 varsity cross country teams. Right, the 2007-2008 junior varsity cross country teams.
At the Dogwood Invitational in Palestine last weekend the varsity boys cross country team was led by Keaton Boyd who finished in 23rd place.

Gilberto Mora was close behind in 28th.

Leading the way for the varsity girls was Ashley Phillips who finished in 42nd place.

The junior varsity boys team, running in their first meet, finished 3rd overall as a team.

They were led by Koby Greene who finished 24th and Jace Deese who finished 28th.

The junior varsity girls were led by Hillary Kempton who finished 23rd.

"The junior high girls did an outstanding job." Coach Greg Gay said. All four runners placed in 31st or higher.

Samantha Phillips finished 3rd, Sarah Grace French was 12th, Rachel Horton 25th, and Katy Shumate 31st.

The next cross country meet will be put on by Lindale High School, October 5th at Garden Valley. High school teams will be the only to compete.
