Panthers tackle Troup Tigers

The varsity Bullard Panthers took the field Friday night to defeat the Troup Tigers 34-21.

In the middle of the first quarter Troup scored the first touchdown and tried for a twopoint conversion. The Tigers were unsuccessful, and the Panthers gained possession of the ball.

Late in the first half, Chad Hollie scored the Panthers first touchdown.

Charlie Moore maked the kick to add the field goal and the Panthers pull ahead 7-6 going into half time.

Geoff Dick led scoring with two touch downs. Charlie Moore, Lance Anding and Chad Hollie each contributed one touch down to the win.

Leading passing for the evening was Charlie Moore with three completed passes to total 94 yards as well as two interceptions.

Lance Anding followed completing each of his two passes to total 72 yards.

Charlie Moore was also the leading receiver catching two to gain 72 yards.

Lance Anding also caught two to total 39 yards, and Chad Hollie had one catch to gain 55 yards.

Leading rushers for the evening was Geoff Dick with 14 carries to total 74 yards.

DeQuan Granberry added eight carries for 10 yards and Lance Anding had three carries for 47 yards.

The Bullard junior varsity football team lost to Troup 16- 8 Thursday night in Troup.

All scoring took place in the first half with the Panthers scorning on a 19 yard run from Dejuan Shelton and a twopoint conversion by Stacey Phillips.

The second half become a defensive struggle between both teams.

With the only scoring opportunity of the second half the Panthers held the Tigers out of the end zone with a 1st and goal strong defensive stand that forced a Tiger to fumble.

The fumble was then recovered by Sammy Ferrera.

Leaders for the panthers offense were Phillip Rieger, Sean Tadlock, Dejuan Shelton and on defense the Panthers were led by Shaq Marable, Dejuan Shelton, Hunter Skelton, Sammy Ferrera.

The next chance to see the junior varsity Panthers in action will be Sept. 27th at 5:30p.m. at Panther Stadium.

The varsity Panthers will play White Oak on Friday, Sept. 28 at 7:30 in an away game.
