! The Cherokee County Republican Club will meet at 6:30 p.m., Monday Oct. 1, with special guest speaker State Comptroller Susan Combs. The meeting will be held at The Woods of Jacksonville Restaurant (formerly Cherokee Country Club), 14881 U.S. 79E, Jacksonville. All members are encouraged to attend and bring a friend. ! Bullard Band Night is from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 2, at Hondo & Shorty's. A portion of all sales will be donated to the Bullard Bands. Bullard Band Boosters meet the first Tuesday of every month at 7 p.m. at the Bullard High School band room. All band parents and others interested in supporting the bands are invited.

! The Emerald Bay Church Choir will hold a concert beginning at 6 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 30, at the church sanctuary. Featured performers include local band "Nearly There," singing country gospel. There is no charge, but donations are welcome. The concert is a fund-raiser for scholarship money for qualifying seniors of Bullard and Brook Hill. Residents outside Emerald Bay are welcome. Stop at the guard gate and ask for a windshield sticker.

! Emerald Bay's annual scholarship garage sale is set for Oct. 13 at Bullard High School. To donate items for the scholarship fund, call 903-825- 1162 and arrange for someone to pick items up.

! Bullard "Moms In Touch International" meets from 2-3 p.m. every Tuesday at the home of Rena French. The group is two or more moms who meet for one hour each week to pray for their children, their schools, their teachers, and administrators. For more information, call Anne Moody at 903- 825-7171.
