Registration under way for kid's theater

Registration is under way for the Ivah Albright Children's Theatre of the Tyler Junior College Department of Speech and Theatre.

Soon to become the TJC Little Theatre, the continuing education-based course offers children's theater classes under the direction of Leighann Bugg.

The course includes developing self-esteem, voice development, acting techniques, critical thinking, voice projection, script and stage preparation, character analysis and production.

Bugg was the theater director at Hubbard Middle School and received her theater training at the University of North Texas.

The fall semester will end with the Christmas production of "The Best Christmas Pageant Ever," presented in the Jean Browne Theatre from Nov. 30 and Dec. 1.

Classes for first through fourth grades are 5 to 6 p.m. Tuesdays. Classes for fifth through 12th grades is 5 to 6 p.m. Thursdays. All classes take place in Jean Browne Theatre located in the Wise Cultural Arts Building.
