Panthers sweep Troup in first home game

The Lady Panthers competed in their first home game of the season recently with all three teams coming out victorious.

The freshman and junior varsity teams played best 2 out of 3 and the varsity squad played best 3 out of 5.

The freshman team defeated Troup 25-16, 25-23. The coaches said the nights standout players were Ashlee Shidler, Nikki Fuller and Felicia Sigman.

The JV squad defeated the Tigers in three 20-25, 25-19, 15-10. After losing the first game, the Lady Panthers pulled together to win the next two games with aggressive serving by Brittany Glover, and a solid defense by Emmy Long and Lara Buysman.

Bullard varsity defeated Troup in three games 25-10, 25-20, 25-7.

The win is attributed to tough serving by the lady panthers with 9 aces and a strong performance at the net by Ashley Davis and Calli Miller, who recorded 9 and 13 kills, respectively.

Whitney Lust led in assists with 25 and also was marked for 2 kills, 2 aces, and 5 digs.
