"You are here." will be a familiar phrase around town, as a thorough and extensive city map and business listing stands prominent next to the gazebo.

An identification map sponsored by many local organizations such as the Rotary Club, Kiwanis Club and the Masonic Lodge will be installed in the town square no later than December.

The information center is designed to help the community as well as visitors to the city find their way to every business listed in Bullard.

"The idea was born out of the Chamber of Commerce wanting to recognize the Bullard businesses," city manager Larry Morgan said. "It's located in an area the Chamber believes will get a lot of attention, giving those businesses the

recognition they deserve."

Chamber President Danny Ray explained that many people were going to City Hall for answers about local businesses. Chamber members decided something must be done.

"We want it to be a convenience," Ray said. "The structure will be covered as well as lit so the information is available 24/7."

Local electricians and construction workers have already offered to lend their time and services to the project. Ray said many businesses and community members are showing interest in the project

"The Chamber will keep the information up to date and the city will keep the property maintained." Ray said.

Chamber member, Rodney Erskine designed the kiosk incorporating all ideas of those involved with the project.

The Bullard Information Center will include two benches on a slab of concrete for the easy-to-read numbered map of the city and business listing. Also featured on the map will be church listings and housing developments. The kiosk will be made to blend in with the downtown buildings.
