Velikonja wins outstanding performer

Vanessa Velikonja of the Bullard High School Band, stands with band director Gary Jordan. Vanessa was selected as an outstanding performer at the 2007 University Interscholastic League, Texas State Solo-Ensemble Contest for her piano solo.

Of the approximately 85,000 students
participating in the regional
UIL music contests and 22,000
musicians who performed at
TSSEC, only 220 students
earned the distinguished honor of
being recognized as an
outstanding performer.

During the school year, Vanessa played percussion in the marching and symphonic band and played piano in the jazz band.
