Police continue searching for armed robbers

Bullard police are still searching for suspects in last week's armed robbery at Dollar General but remain with few leads.

They have a general description of one suspect - a white male, between 40-45 years old with graying hair. But the other suspect remained in the car during the robbery.

According to reports, the man walked into the store about 5 p.m. last Wednesday armed and ordered the cashier to the back of the store after he took about $300 from the register.

She said if she didn't comply, he would shoot her. The employee went straight to the manager's office and called the police, but the suspects had already fled the scene before the police arrived minutes later.

Awitness believes the men were driving a blue Chevy Tahoe - anywhere from a 1999-2005 model.

The robbery came as a surprise to Chief Gary Don Lewis.

"This is the first armed robbery I've seen in Bullard," said Lewis, who has been with the department for 22 years.

Anyone with information regarding the robbery is asked to contact the Bullard Police Department at 903-894-7788.
