Bullard Library gives out awards to youth
In honor of National Library Week, the Bullard Community Library had a "BIG Name the Computers Contest." Above is the winner, Andre Youngblood, with longtime library volunteer, Cora Tomlin. Youngblood, 12, of Flint, and the son of David and Mimi Youngblood won with the following list of names: Charlie Brown, Sally, Snoopy, Woodstock, Schroeder, Lucy and Linus. Andre's prizes included pocket calculator, a State of Texas key ring, a complimentary year's library membership, and a free book of his choice from the FRIENDS' Book Store. Scott Shumate, runner up, of Flint, came up with a names of artists: Titian, El Greco, Michelangelo, Rembrandt, Gioto, Donatello, Ghiberti
Scott's prizes included a mini shoe shine kit, a complimentary year's library membership, and a free book of his choice from the FRIENDS' Book Store. Honorable metions went to the three entrants who were able to recall the names of all the seven dwarfs: Kristi Garrigan of Flint, Gladys Casper of Tyler, and Carol Martin of Flint, librarian at Bullard High School.
Each of these entrants receives a complimentary year's library membership, and a free book of their choice from the FRIENDS' Book Store.
