FBC GRESHAM HOSTS 42 TOURNEY
Flint residents top 42 winners

Area 42 tournament winners show off their trophies at a recent competition held at First Baptist Church, Gresham. The Sonshine Group of 42 players over the age of 55, meets at 6 p.m. every Thursday.

On Tuesday, April 3, 2007 FBC, Gresham hosted a 42 Tournament, 12 teams competed in this all day event.

Lunch was included in the $7 fee charged. Reverend Roy Thoene and Youth Director David May contributed the barbecue and the committee furnished all the trimmings.

The committee consisted of Irene Lusk as time keeper, Bea Cooper and Carol Seals were Judges and Marilee and Norma Beddingfield prepared the lunch.

Charlene Warren and her partner Aubie Dailey, both of Flint, were first place winners.

Three couples competed for second place with Gwyn Cain and Judy Trull, both of Tyler, winning second and Helen McGaha and Shirley McFarland, both of Tyler, winning third.

Contesting both these places was Hebert Franks and his partner Darrell Brown.

The Sonshine Group of 42 players over the age of 55, gather each Thursday night to play 42 at 6 p.m..

Those wanting to come early bring a covered dish and have the evening meal at 5:15 p.m..

Interested seniors are invited to come and enjoy the fellowship each Thursday at the First Baptist Church gym at Gresham.
