Lady Panthers make playoffs
By Kelly Griffith Bullard Banner News

The Bullard Lady Panthers are now looking forward to their chance in the playoffs after taking down the Brownsboro Bearettes in a 3-2 victory Friday night.

Giving Bullard the advantage was, Whitney Worthen who led off the sixth inning with a triple, and Sophomore Elizabeth Hollingsworth whose pinch-hit single gave Bullard the run and allowed the girls to hold onto the lead.

Timely hits by Allison Burton, and Erin Kipp as well as a outstanding bunt by Kelsey Robertson led the team offensively and the Lady Panthers solid defense closed the door on Brownsboro.

Erin Kipp started slow on the mound but finished strong when needed.

Kipp allowed only 2 runs on 5 hits, while striking out 10. With the win the Bullard Lady Panthers are the runners-up in District 14-3A and clinched a playoff spot for only the second time in school history.

Bullard will play Mabank the 3rd place in District 13-3A in the BI-District round of the playoffs, at UT Tyler Softball Complex.

Game One is scheduled at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 26th, Game Two set for 6 p.m. on Friday, April 27th and Game 3 if necessary immediately following.
