Prune erect blackberries
      Blackberries are easy for the home gardener to grow, and they grow in most areas of Texas (in USDA Hardiness zones 7,8 or 9). Excellent erect varieties include Brazos, Rosborough, Womack, Choctaw, Brison, Arapaho (thornless), and Navaho (thornless).

TJC's four production under way
      Theatre TJC's fourth and final production of the season, "Harvest: A Texas High Plains Trilogy", opened Wednesday, April 25. The play will run through Monday, April 30, in Jean Browne Theatre, located in the Wise Cultural Arts Center on the Tyler Junior College main campus.

      Noonday-born author, Joe Turman, will be signing his latest book, "Sling Creek," at the Noonday Community Center Library from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday. Turman is the author of two best-selling books: "Getting On With the Going," and "Buddy, The Life of Texas Boxing Legend, Buddy Turman.
