RODGER JOHNSON

1. For our City to continue to grow it is imperative that we maintain a balanced budget. This council has worked hard to establish and maintain a workable budget for the city. We have placed checks and balances to make sure our spending is warranted and all monies are properly accounted for. With growth comes the need to invest money into our City services. Going forward it is important that we maintain our financial strength to ensure the quality of our community.

2. Bullard is one of very few communities where The City, The School Board, and The Chamber of Commerce have a good working relationship. We share a common goal of quality education, affordable local services, and a safe place to live. It is important that the Council maintain a good relationship with Bullard ISD and our Chamber.

3. Our City Park has a new face lift but we are not finished. We have a vision not only to expand our park but to restore the downtown area and attract business that fills the needs of our community. We are seeking grants to restore the area and provide more services to our neighbors.

4-5. I personally am very involved in the new water utility infrastructure. We have begun to drill a new water well to supply the needs of our growing community. We have started construction on a new overhead storage tank and plans are being made for the expansion of our water treatment facility. We still have work to do and I would like to continue to be a part of the project.

Because of our recent financial history we have not had the funds to make all the needed repairs on some of our city streets. We are making giant strides in addressing the maintenance needs of the streets as well as the drainage problems we have been facing. Standing water causes problems for our streets and we need to continue working to effectively control the water shed problems. Our city crews are working to install new water lines and lines to provide City sewer to several neighborhoods. As we grow financially stronger we will need to continue to invest in these areas. I would like to continue to be a part of the council that leads the City in these areas.
