Lady Panthers shut out Hornets

Bullard Lady Panthers defeated the undefeated Athens Lady Hornets Friday night in a 3-0 victory.

Valarie Roberts started the game off right with a homerun in the top of the first inning, while Lara Buysman singled and later scored on a pass ball.

Allison Burton walked and scored on the ball Erin Kipp grounded out the second baseman.

In the game Bullard turned two double plays, the first one coming in the third inning when Roberts started the 5-4-3 double play which consisted of Roberts, to Whitney Worthen to Kristan Bell and then later in the fifth inning Worthen stabbed on line shot out and doubled up the runner on first base.

Kipp pitched a good game finishing up with 6 strikeouts, 0 walks, and 3 hits.
