Lifters bring home second at state meet

Bullard's power-lifting Panthers traveled to Aldine, on March 24, to compete in the Texas High School Power-lifting Association State Competition and walked away with high honors.

The team as a whole finished with second place. Tim Lackey received first place with a total of 1645 in the 220 lb. weight class.

Lackey has participated in the state competition for three years now, the past two years he claimed eighth and third place. Also returning for the third year in a row, Brian Zemer claimed second place in the 165 lb. weight class with a total of 1440 after ranking at eighth and sixth place in his previous years.

Tawnee Bartlett also claimed fifth place March 16 in the Women's State Power-lifting meet.
