Flower market added to Tyler Azalea trail

TYLER - A new event, the Main Street Flower Market, is set to take place in downtown Tyler on Friday, March 30 and Saturday, March 31 during the 48th Annual Azalea and Spring Flower Trail.

Bedding plants, hanging plants, fresh cut flowers, fruit trees, yard art, pottery, birdhouses and more will be offered at the inaugural event, which is being organized by the Heart of Tyler Main Street Program.

The flower market will occur at the historic setting of Tyler's Goodman Museum Gardens, LeGrand Park, 624 N. Broadway, each day, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

"This is a perfect event for Tyler, since we're such a flower city, already known for our roses and azaleas," said Flower Market Chairman Pene Bridges, vice president of conventions for the Tyler Convention and Visitors Bureau. "We're promoting the flower market throughout the state and expect tourists as well as local residents to attend," she said.
