Lady Panthers down Eagles

The Lady Panthers softball team defeated the Canton Lady Eagles 2-1 in the first district game Friday evening.

The ladies played a good defensive game making no errors.

Freshman pitcher Erin Kipp gave up only one run on three hits, walked just two and ended the game with 14 strikeouts, while Allison Burton gunned down the only Eagle base-runner attempting to steal.

The victory brings the girls record to 19- 3 overall and 1-0 for district.

"The Lady Panthers are improving with every game," Coach Holcomb said, "we are having all girls contributing to each win."

The girls will play Van next in Bullard March 23 at 6 p.m.
