Press Newburn Jr.

FLINT - Services for Press Newburn Jr., 87, Flint, were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 3, at Thompson Funeral Home chapel, Jacksonville, with the Rev. Tom Pesnell and Eddie Napps officiating.

Burial was at Bullard Cemetery.

Mr. Newburn died Feb. 28, 2007, in Tyler.

He was born Jan. 7, 1920, in Jacksonville.

He was a heavy equipment operator in the construction business.

He was a member of County Line Baptist Church, Flint.

He was preceded in death by a son, Pat Newburn, and grandson, Scott Newburn.

Survivors include his wife, Cecil Newburn, Flint; son, Mike Newburn, Tyler; daughter, Judy Costlow, Palestine; sister, Christine Jackson, Tyler; seven grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Rick Haynes, Jimmy Bain, John Langston, Louis Newburn, Tony Hayes and Rick Kinsey.
