BULLETIN BOARD
! The school board adopted criteria for naming buildings, etc. for the district during the February meeting. The criteria is as foll o w s : c o m m u n i t y involvement by submission of names; in honor of large donor, public servant or national figure; in memory of a local person that has been a friend through public service for Bullard ISD or a notable graduate from the district; or district mascot or city and grade alignment. The district is interested in community and school suggestions for the new elementary school and the road that will be dedicated to the city. The suggestions will be considered during the March 19 board meeting. You can e-mail Jim Wright at jim.wright @bullardisd.net or mail to P.O.Box 250 your suggestions. The board of trustees will review all suggestions and ultimately make the decision.

! Because BISD used up both scheduled bad weather days for the school year, all campuses will have classes April 6 and 9. One day was used earlier in the year for a water main break and the second day for bad weather in January.

! On Thursday, March 8, the first grade classes of The Brook Hill Lower School will host a "Don't Rock The Ark" tour from 11:30 a.m.-2:45 p.m. in their classrooms. The public is invited to tour the animals two-by-two and view the animal habitat displays. Also, the second grade classes of The Brook Hill Lower School will show how American History truly "Comes Alive." from 10 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. Research skills were developed when the children learned to use note cards for a rough draft and write bibliographies for the first time this year. Each child chose a great American to research in written form and then present an oral presentation dressed in costume appropriate for their character. They had to design and create a special button to place beside them during their presentation. When entering the "Great American Wax Museum," visitors will see "wax" great American characters come to life when their "come alive" button is pushed by each visitor. Children will present highlights of the person's life and then resume a pose characteristic of their great American.
