Library starts work on its annual event

The Bullard Community Library has already begun work on its major fund-raiser event.

The event -- touted as "Evening in Provence" and set for 6:30 p.m. March 17 at Eagles Bluff -- is part of the libary's ongoing capital campaign.

It will feature a silent auction and fivecourse dinner by a French chef.

After the meal and auction, there will be dancing.

Volunteers have raised about $297,000 toward the goal of $1.6 million.

Within the new building will be a large community room where the Meals-on-Wheels program will operate and other community activities, cultural and enrichment events can be conducted at no charge.

The library portion of the structure will provide expanded space for books and other materials, tutoring rooms, a genealogy room, computers, allow expanded programming and have areas for children, teens and adults, an office, a tutoring/small meeting room, a study room and work room.
