      Allison Rogers has been awarded the Northern Texas PGA Junior Golf Foundation, Girls' Player of the Year, East Chapter. Allison is a 17-year-old, home-educated, senior, from Emerald Bay in Bullard. This award was presented at Lakewood Country Club in Dallas.

      The Brook Hill School Upper School Orchestra competed at TAPPS District Solo/Ensemble Contest, Feb. 13. Three ensembles -- violin trio, Mozart string quartet and advanced, string quartet -- received a Superior 1 rating and advanced to state.

Band members fare well at solo/ensemble contest
      The Bullard High School Band competed in the Region XXI U.I.L. Solo & Ensemble Contest on Feb. 10 on the campus of Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches. The Panther Band had 26 students competing on wind and percussion solos and on woodwind, brass, and percussion ensembles.
