Manning leads Panthers to victory over Canton

The varsity Panthers came out on top in a 56-42 victory against the Canton Eagles in the district match up Tuesday night.

Though things started off rocky in the start of the first period the Panthers gained the lead and never let go.

Chris Manning led the victory as he hit for 14; Raymond Cooper and Lance Anding each followed with 11; Austin Camp, 8; Charlie Moore, 4; Andrew Barron, 4; Cameron Agnew, 2 and Josiah Rosebury, 2.

Lady Panthers suffer defeat in final game

The varsity Lady Panthers were defeated Tuesday night in their final game against the Canton Eaglettes.

After trailing through the first half, the girls pulled ahead in the third period only to go back and forth with the lead. Free throws gave the Eaglettes the advantage in the fourth period as Bullard racked up the charges.

Elisa Lee led the girls in scoring with 17 points with 7 rebounds; Kayla Welling, 8 points, 6 rebounds; Calli Miller, 7 points; Tara Wood, 5; Kanda Carter, 4 points with 4 assists; Mallory Red, 3points and Natalie Gray, 2 points and 9 assists. The girls final record is 17-14 overall and 3-7 for district. JV girls lose in district match, 41,39

The Junior varsity girls also suffered a 41-39 loss against the Eaglettes in the district match up. After Bullard held the lead the entire first half the Eaglettes came back and turned the tables in the third period.

Emily Philpott led the girls with 14 points; Ashley Ricci, 13; Heather Camp, 6; Susan Lowrie, 2; Kailee Schmitz, 2 and Ashley Phillips. The girls record for the season is 21-8 overall and 7-3 in district.
