NACOGDOCHES AZALEA TRAIIL EVENTS Local nurseries and garden clubs offer a variety of plants including 30 varieties of azaleas including the Encoreä and Southern Indica. The sale also features hard to find native deciduous azalea varieties. There will also be perennials, houseplants and other choice ornamental shrubs and trees. March 24 The Art of Floral Design, Color& Textures from the Gardens 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., 329 E. Main St. A showcase of floral arrangements highlighting the horticultural talents of local gardeners, designers and plant enthusiasts. Sponsored by the Nacogdoches Art League and Sherry Ward Fine Arts Studio. March 25 "Little Princess" Garden Party in the Ruby Mize Azalea Garden 1-3 p.m. Introduce your favorite little girl to the beauty and joy of the garden at this special party. Enjoy refreshments, party favors, and entertainment planned to delight you and spark her imagination. Bring your camera to capture this day. Dress: Please let her wear her favorite princess costume or garden party outfit. Very limited seating, reservations required. Tickets: $15 per adult, $10 per child. March 28- April 1 Azaleas in the Pines - A Texas Garden Party The Azalea Society of America national convention is coming to Nacogdoches for two days of tours of East Texas public and private gardens, speakers on azaleas and Japanese maples, garden design, and companion planting. Registration (includes all tours, two breakfasts, two lunches, one dinner and a banquet; does not include hotel): $184 for ASA members; $209 for non-members. Early registration ends Feb. 22. Sponsored by the SFA Mast Arboretum. March 31 Loblolly Liberator Bike Ride The race features five courses ranging from 10 to 100 miles. Riders enjoy the beautiful scenic landscape of East Texas.
