Tickets on sale for Rusk's civic theater production Tickets, Red Hats, Girl Scout Cookies and a Play! What more could you want? The Cherokee Civic Theatre proudly presents "On Golden Pond." Director Don Parsons and Producer Camille Jones have put a wonderful cast together which enacts the story of Norman and Ethel Thayer , starting their 48th year at their summer home on Golden Pond. This year though, fate has surprises in store for them. No longer will there be lazy days of sleeping and fishing. Tickets for "On Golden Pond" go on sale 9 a.m. Monday at for the general public. Evening performances will be at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Feb. 23-24 and Sunday matinee, at 2 p.m. Feb. 25. The matinee performance will be special for the Cherokee Civic Theatre. It's the second annual Red Hat on Sunday. The Alto Chapter has issued an attendance challenge to other Red Hat chapters in the area. Alto won last year with the most members attending the play. All Red Hat Chapters are urged to attend. Also, during this performance, Girl Scout troop No. 139 will have a special cookie booth set up. During intermission, at approximately 3 p.m., they'll be selling cookies as refreshments and also by the box. Theater-goers and the general public alike are welcome to visit the booth.
