Sybil Vaughan Dickey

Sybil Vaughan Dickey of Bullard passed away on Jan. 31, 2007, in Dallas after a lengthy illness.

She was born January 28, 1946, to Verdell and Lois Vaughan.

Services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 3, at Autry Funeral Home chapel with Dan Manuel, Donnie Barron and Glen Cogburn officiating. Burial followed at Bullard Cemetery.

Mrs. Dickey was employed at Joe Wright Elementary School in Jacksonville for 13 years. She was an active member of Ponta Church of Christ and was an avid supporter of the Walk for Life.

She is survived by her husband, Louis Dickey, Bullard; one son and daughter-in-law, Craig and Brenda Dickey, Troup; three grandchildren, Kaleb, Tyler and McClane Dickey, Troup; brothers and sisters in-law, Connie and Karen Vaughan, Bullard, Freddie and Tammy Vaughan, Troup; one sister and brother-in-law, Sallye and Terry Cowan, Bullard; and several nieces and nephews.

Also, her extended family, Sara and Lamar Slover, Laura and Sarah Dupree, Chance and Charlie Moore, Mason and Taylor Frederick, and a host of friends.

Serving as pallbearers were Jackie Slover, Scott Moore, Wade Frederick, Doug Dupree, Charles Ray and Gary Tipton. Honorary pallbearers were Wilson Folden and Jim Franklin.

Visitation was Friday, Feb. 2, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1301 S, Broadway, Tyler, 75701.
