Texas Farm Bureau wins excellence honors The Texas Farm Bureau scored a perfect five out of five in "awards for excellence" presented at the American Farm Bureau Federation annual convention in Salt Lake City, Utah last week. The five categories in the awards for excellence were: Education and Agriculture Promotion, Leadership Development, Member Services, Policy Implementation and Public Relations. Texas Farm Bureau President Kenneth Dierschke accepted the awards, which also included a Presidents Award, the AFBF's "best of the best" designation for Member Services. TFB was also selected for a Navigator award honoring membership achievement. Also at the AFBF convention, former Texas Congressman Charlie Stenholm received the organization's highest honor, the Distinguished Service Award for lifetime achievement in service to agriculture. Will and Becky Coward of Gatesville were runners-up in the "Excellence in Agriculture" competition for young Farm Bureau members involved in non-farm agricultural careers. |
