Lady JV sweeps tourney

The junior varsity Lady Panthers ruled the Spring Hill Tournament recently.

The girls started by defeating Texas High 28-6.

Ashlee Shidler led the girls to victory by scoring 16 points. Emmy Long followed with 4; Heather Camp, 3; Emily Philpott, 3 and Ashley Davis, 2.

The following day the ladies played in a closely matched game against Hallsville ending the game with a score of 37-30.

Shidler led the girls once again with 16 points. Davis followed with 8; Camp, 8; Ashley Phillips, 3 and Michelle Stephenson, 2.

The final day of the tournament the ladies squeaked passed Spring Hill to win 29- 25.

Stephenson led the ladies with 13 points. Shidler followed with 11; Long, 2 and Philpott, 1.

The tournament primed the ladies as the returned home to defeat Fairfield 57-38.

Scorers were Ashlee Shidler, 18; Michelle Stephenson, 12; Ashley Davis, 8; Emmy Long, 6; Emily Philpott, 5; Heather Camp, 5; Ashley Phillips, 2 and Angel Hardy 1.

"The girls started out very slow but midway through the first quarter picked up with outstanding hustle and determination, " Coach Nanci Dixon said. "I am very proud of the girls and their efforts."

The win over Fairfield brings the teams record to 10-1.

Boys bring home honors

Bullard varsity Panthers brought home the championship from the Wills Point Tournament.

The Panthers defeated Trinity Christian Academy of Addison 60-55.

"This was a very physical, hard fought game," said Coach Ryan Tomlin. "This was a total team effort."

Lance Anding led all scorers with 22; Austin Camp, 12 and Charlie Moore, 8.

The Panthers then defeated Kaufman, Wills Point and Rockwall Heath on their path to the championship.

Lance Anding and Daniel Howard received Most Valuable Player awards for the tournament.

The win brings the team's record to 10-2.
