Second grade classes at The Brook Hill Lower School culminated their literature genre study of Traditional Tales and fantasy with a "Grand Ball." Above are Conor Snyder, Alex Ellis, Nathan Teague, Michelle Krutz and Madeline Travis. Announcements of each couple were made with great fanfare under a royal arch of silks and satin. Lords and Ladies of the Land of Brook Hill then performed an enchanting minuet to the notes of classical music. Lords then escorted their Ladies to their seats in proper etiquette form and dined with parents and friends at a banquet table fit for a king topped with a royal castle cake. When the clock struck midnight, the ladies hurried to their coach in true Cinderella fashion with a glass slipper left behind. The event was visited by approximately 100 guests, the queens of second grade, a count, and their fairy godmother, Kathy Allen, pictured with her class below.
