After discovering that Bullard High Administrators refused to buy Bullard high Senior Tim Lackey the State Power lifting Championship Ring, four students decided they would raise the money to purchase the ring themselves.

On Saturday, Amanda Abernathy, Ananda Kuchinsky, Ashley Propes and Kristen Bell washed cars in the Bullard Brookshire's parking lot where Tim is employed until the money was raised.

Armed with cell phones and sponges, the girls called everyone they knew and began washing the first car at 10 a.m.

Ananda shared Tim's story with her customers and coworkers as she cashier inside the store, while the other three bikini clad girls washed, scrubbed and spayed away in the parking lot.

"Tim has worked so hard, he deserves this ring," Ananda said "Our goal was to raised $100 but when we counted over $200 early on we were psyched to keep going."

By evening's end, the sore and sunburned friends had raised over $500.

The ring will cost Tim a little over $600, but the girls said many people have offered to donate the remaining money needed.
