D.E. ‘Roby’ Roberson A memorial service for D.E. “Roby” Roberson of Emerald Bay was held Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2006, at 2 p.m. at Emerald Bay Community Church in Bullard. Mr. Roberson passed away on Saturday, Dec. 16, 2006, after a courageous battle with cancer. Mr. Roberson was born in Stephenville on July 19, 1932. He was the seventh of 13 children of Charles W. Roberson and Vivian Sybil Powers Roberson. He attended public schools in Stephenville, and then was awarded football scholarships at Tarleton State University and Southwest Texas State University. He graduated from Southwest Texas State University in 1955 with degrees in Physics and Mathematics. He was employed by Dresser Industries for 14 years as an oil and gas well engineer, a well log analyst, and he also served in executive sales. He held several positions in the Society of Petroleum Engineers, including President of the Spindletop Chapter in Beaumont. Mr. Roberson changed careers and became a Texas licensed real estate broker, working in both commercial and residential areas of real estate. He was the managing partner in Boswell Investment Company. Roby and his wife Carolyn moved to Emerald Bay in 1993. He was known as “The Real Estate Pro” as he participated in the listing and selling of over 180 properties in the Emerald Bay subdivision. Roby will be deeply missed by his family and many friends. His life has been an inspiration to many people as he had an uncanny ability to touch lives. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, family man and friend to all that knew him. He was an avid golfer and member of Emerald Bay Golf Association and had won numerous local golf tournaments. He is survived by the love of his life, Carolyn Moody Roberson of Emerald Bay, who he was married to for 51 years. He is also survived by son, Donald Keith Roberson and his wife Giovanna of Magnolia; son, Roger Craig Roberson arid wife Trina of Spring; and daughter, Karen Kay Parmlee and husband Stan of Emerald Bay. Also surviving Mr. Roberson are four brothers, six sisters and eight grandchildren. Memorials may be made in the name of Donald E.
