Smith County still offers flu vaccine
SMITH COUNTYHEALTH DISTRICT

The Center for Disease Controls advises people in the high-risk populations to receive the influenza vaccination.

High risk is defined as age 65 or older, someone that has a chronic disease condition, or someone who provides health care for a child or an adult 65 years of age or older.

The Northeast Texas Public Health District will be conducting flu vaccination clinics: at 815 N. Broadway Ave. from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., Monday through Friday, until the vaccine supply is depleted.

The flu vaccination is $29 to the public and free to Medicare and Medicaid clients with their card.

Frequent hand washing is recommended to help break the chain of infection for spreading the “flu bug.”

The United Way of Tyler/Smith County and the 211 Texas Office have much information regarding Smith and surrounding counties.

“East Texas Area Flu Shot Clinics” are now available by calling 211.

This database will be kept up so providers and residents can direct those needing/desiring a flu shot to the nearest location.
