For more than 10 years Rusk/Palestine State Park has created childhood memories for thousands of kids and their parents at the park’s annual “Kid’s Fish Day.”
This special day has provided many children their first opportunity to bait and wet a hook in anticipation of catching the big one!
The 2007 Kid’s Fish Day has been canceled due to the park lake’s low water level.
Drought conditions have not been kind to this popular fishing spot.
The low lake level will also prevent the annual stocking of rainbow trout.
Park staff thanks those who have assisted in providing area children with this opportunity in years past and are looking forward to a time when kids can once again enjoy this traditional event - having fun and making treasured memories.
