Hellebores great for winter color

Winter color in the garden is a desire of all avid gardeners.

Hellebores, also known as Lenten Roses, are a wonderful addition to the shade garden.

These are long-lived plants that bloom late winter or early spring.

There are many varieties with color ranges from purple, red, near black, white, green, pink and even yellow.

Over the years with minimal care, each plant will develop into clumps 18 to 24 inches high and two to three feet across. Hellebores are deer and rabbit resistant.
