Lady Panthers earn consolation prize

In the championship game, Whitehouse guard Mitch Marquis gave an MVP performance Saturday at the Tyler Ford Hoop Heaven Basketball Tournament at Lindale High School.

Marquis scored 27 points to lead the Wildcats past Lufkin 73- 53, capturing the school's first-ever Hoop Heaven Division I trophy.

But the Lady Panthers didn't fare badly in the end.

The team took home consolation finals in the annaul tourney.
