CHAMBER GEARS UP FOR CHANGES With so many new members, the next Bullard Chamber of Commerce meeting could see some changes. The membership list nears 100 now, and with the growth continuing, the chamber could grow with the community. On Dec. 7 at 6 p.m., members hold one of the most important meetings of the year - nominating and voting on new officers and board members. Refreshments are served at 6 p.m. The guest speaker begins at 6:30 p.m. The business meeting begins at 7 p.m. For more information call 903-894-6125 nominations may also be made from the floor. "A growing chamber is vital to a growing community," said President Danny Ray. "I've been asked to stay as president, and if that's what the membership wants, it would be an honor." Langford Second Vice President: Jerry Ward Secretary Carolyn McCall Treasurer: Sherri Glover Along with voting, the chamber is taking its nominations for Bullard's Man, Woman and Business of the Year awards to be handed out at the annual banquet in January. Chamber members may nominate someone for all the categories, but the final selection, will be by a small committee. Added this year will be the Cecil B. Harper Humanitarian award - in honor of Harper who died earlier this year. Tickets to the banquet are $25 and may be reserved by calling the chamber office at 903- 894-4238. And on Dec. 5, Bullard members are teaming with the Tyler Area Chamber for "Chamber Day" at the Tyler Pounds Regional Airport. The goal, members said, is to bring members of other areas together to market every city at the airport plus be able to hear updates about the services available at Tyler Pounds Regional Airport. Each Chamber will have space to set up a booth to display tourist attractions, business opportunities and other items of interest about your respective area. Everyone is invited to come and notify businesses in the area to participate. The airport opens at 5:30 a.m. and participants are welcome to come early to staff their booth. Following the day's activities your chamber members are invited to attend a reception from 4-6 p.m. in the airport lobby. |
