AGONY OF DEFEAT
Tigers take a 40-26 division IV win over Brook Hill

Brook Hill head football coach Paul Johnston, left, talks with his team following the Guard's 39- 28 win over Rockwall Christian. Brook Hill lost its district game on Saturday against Muenster Sacred Heart in the first round of the TAPPS playoffs.
Not bad for the second season.

That's how many of the parents summed up Brook Hill's defeat by Muenster on Saturday.

The growing program, however, has changed in only two short seasons.

"We made some huge strides this season with our program, and I think we have a young enough team that we will learn from this loss today and build on this for the future," said Brook Hill head coach David Johnston. "Our kid's played with a lot of heart and left it all out on the field every time we played and today was no exception.

"Take nothing away from Sacred Heart. They have a great football tradition but with the exception of a few turnovers, we were right there, but it wasn't our day today."

The loss ends Brook Hill's second-ever season with a 5-3 mark.

Muenster Sacred Heart got 201 yards on the ground from Josh Yosten.

Quarterback Nolan Hartman threw for 178 as the Tigers took a 40-26 TAPPS Division IV bi-district football win over Brook Hill School on Saturday at Herrington Field.

Yosten, a Sacred Heart running back, scored four times as

the Tigers held a 26-14, halftime lead. Yosten finished with 112- yards in the win.

Brian Inglehart -- new to the BH program -- rushed for 104 yards for Brook Hill and scored on runs of 2 and 11 accounting for The Guard's first two touchdowns.

With time winding down in the first half, The Guard changed its tack.

Running back Nolan Rose threw a pass to a Zac Davis for a 62-yard touchdown to cut its deficit to 26-20 at halftime. TAPPS Division IV, Bi-District Football at Herrington Field Sacred Heart 14 12 14 0-40 Brook Hill 6 14 0 6-26
