Cherokee County wraps up bomb threat at BHS Cherokee County Attorney Craig Caldwell said case involving an April bomb threat at Bullard High School was wrapped up last week. BISD school officer John Walker said one juvenile plea bargained, and the other went to trial. The judge sentenced him to one year probation, 70 hours of community service, and he was ordered to pay restitution. The threat was called in on April 21. "They wanted to get out of school early," said Bullard police chief Gary Lewis. "But we take threats seriously," Lewis said. The first call came to the high school secretary's office that Friday morning. Two calls followed in short succession. Reports indicate a young male claimed there was a bomb at the school. Lewis and two other Bullard officers were quickly on the scene. BISD Superintendent Jim Wright, too, was there. Bullard volunteer firefighters searched the building and found no evidence of a bomb.. Lewis said sources helped officers identify the suspects. Walker arrested the juveniles shortly after the incident. |
