Bullard High School returns victorious

HUDSON - The Bullard High School cross country team came back with three medals for competition Oct. 7 in Hudson.

In junior varsity boys (3.1 miles) action, Bullard results include: Keaton Boyd, 6th, 19:06; Christopher Braaten, 14th, 19;45; Weston Boyd, 23rd, 20:37; Brandon Dollgener, 56th, 23:46; Jarrell Fuller did not finish.

In junior varsity girls, twomile action, Ashley Phillips, placed third in a time of 15:51.

The junior high girls, running 1.5 miles, Rachel Horton

was 52nd with a time of 12:18.

The runners will compete

Oct. 23 at district in Athens. !

NECHES - Bullard athletes did well in the Sept. 30 cross country meet held in Neches.

In the varsity boys, 3.1 mile race, Bullard results include: Keaton Boyd, 21st, 19:59; Jerrell Fuller, 34th, 20:53; Christopher Braaten, 45th, 21:27; Weston Boyd, 50th, 21:49; Brandon Bollgener, 76th, 24:19; John Evans was unable to finish, due to an injury.

JV girls, two-mile race: Ashley Phillips, 13th, 15:30; Felicia Sigman, 15th, 15:42; Rachael Horton, 23rd, 16:25.

Coach Tammy Rooney said, "We had an excellent day with our athletes knocking minutes off their previous race times. We have such great parental support at our cross country races. Thanks to all for their support of the race as well as their kids!"

The team will compete Oct. 13 at the Chapel Hill race to be held at Tyler State Park.
