UIL training
BHS students attend UIL conference

Approximately 30 Bullard High School students and teachers attended the UIL Activity Conference on Saturday, Sept.23 at Tyler Junior College.

The conference, one of four sponsored by the UIL each fall, provides students who are interested in participating in academic competitions the opportunity to learn more about their events.

Students and coaches alike attend workshops geared for helping students prepare for events by giving them suggested practice strategies, practice materials and competition tips.

"Students sometimes come away from the event realizing that they are interested in an area they never really thought they would like, simply because they learned more about it," said UIL Coordinator, Tabitha Hippler.

The UIL Academic team has already begun preparing for their first invitational meet to be held in November. District competition will be in March.
