Friends and family gathered inside of The Brook Hill School’s Upper School Courtyard Saturday, May 19, as the school’s Board of Trustees and administrators bestowed high school diplomas to a total of 84 graduating seniors, the largest graduating class in the school’s history, at the Brook Hill 2018 Commencement Exercises Ceremony. The Brook Hill Class of 2018 will represent the school well as they head into the world, as the Class of 2018 seniors were awarded a total of 327 acceptance letters to 134 colleges and universities around the United States and around the world, while cashing in on $5,315,413 in college scholarships, setting new school records in all three categories. more
The Bullard Education Foundation honored the academic successes of several distinguished Bullard High School students, as well as the hard work of teachers, at the annual BEF Achievement Recognition Banquet Tuesday, May 15, at Hollytree Country Club in Tyler. more
The hallways of several Bullard Independent School District campuses rang aloud with the tones of Pomp and Circumstance recently, as the Bullard High School Class of 2018 took part in the school’s annual traditions of Senior Breakfast and Graduation Walkthrough Friday, May 11. “The Senior Breakfast and Senior Walkthrough events have definitely become traditional events, and we’re big on traditions here at Bullard ISD,” said Donna Jeffus, Coordinator of Alternative Education and CTE. “These particular events have become big events within Bullard ISD and the community, and are always well attended by the senior class and their parents. more
The Bullard Banner News office will be closed on Monday, May 28 in observance of the Memorial Day holiday. The deadline to receive advertising and story information will move to 12 p.m. Friday, May 25 due to the holiday. Anyone wishing to have advertisements or stories in the Wednesday, May 30 issue of the paper is asked to have all information turned into the office by noon on Friday, May 26. more
Smith County residents will be able to celebrate Memorial Day with a bang again this year by purchasing and igniting fireworks. Earlier this month, Smith County Commissioners voted to approve an order authorizing fireworks sales from Wednesday, May 23 through Monday, May 28. The 84th Texas Legislature passed House Bill 1150, authorizing three additional periods that fireworks may be sold to the public as long as the Commissioners Courts in each county issues an order authorizing such sales each year. more
The race is on for parents of students returning to Bullard Independent School District campuses for the upcoming 2018-2019 school year, as the district’s Online Registration period is set to end on Thursday, May 31. In its second year, Bullard ISD began offering parents the opportunity to register students for next year on Tuesday, May 1, in an effort to minimize the large quantity of paperwork often associated with enrollment. more
